Which Magnesium Is Right for You?

Which Magnesium Is Right for You?

Most people don't know there are many different types of magnesium and they all do different things. Some are good for constipation while others are good for rest. Here is a quick cheat sheet on the couple most common types people supplement with (or get naturally).

1. Magnesium Citrate found in our Wooden Spoon Herbs Magnesium, Juna Sleep Gummies, Ora Organic You're A Knock Out Sleep Capsules, is commonly found in citrus foods so we get it naturally! This is one of the most bioavailable forms and can help to replenish magnesium levels, benefits gut health, and promotes relaxation.

2. Magnesium Oxide found in our Truvani Magnesium capsules is actually the one magnesium that helps with digestion, promoting healthy bowel movements and can even help with migraines.

3. Magnesium Chloride is typically found in topical products used to relax muscles. This is also a great way to help with relaxation and is best used topically. This is found in our Luna Nectar Nocturne & Cymbiotika Magnesium Topical Spray

4. Magnesium Malate is also found naturally in wine and fruit. It is also used to replenish magnesium levels and used for chronic fatigue and digestion. It is found in our Minerals & Chill  product.

5. Magnesium L-Threonate found in our Cymbiotika pouches and is also one of the most easily absorbed. It is s often used for its potential brain benefits and may help manage certain brain disorders, such as depression, Alzheimer’s disease, and age-related memory loss. It can also help increase magnesium levels.

6. Magnesium Glycinate found in our Look Organics Calm capsules & Cymbiotika Sleep Formula -  definitely the one magnesium gaining the most traction. It can help improve sleep and treat some inflammatory conditions, including heart disease and diabetes. It may help reduce mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, stress and insomnia.

The great thing about magnesium is that because there are so many forms you can take a couple to really tailor to your needs. There is no current data on the "upper" limit of magnesium meaning its pretty hard to take "too much" of it. Magnesium is the one mineral I suggest to everyone no matter what because it's very easy to become deficient and it's used in SOO many functions in the body.
